Lincoln County Offices will have a 3-hour delay Monday, February 2nd. County Management and Lincoln County Emergency Services will monitor the storm and conditions to determine if Monday's hours need to be adjusted. Notification will be made Sunday, February 1st of any changes.
All Lincoln County Libraries, Lincoln County Parks and Recreation facilities and parks, Lincoln County Animal Services, will be closed Saturday, January 31st and Sunday, February 1st.

Lincoln County Emergency Management has an emergency preparedness plan which includes the opening of shelters if certain conditions are met including major power outages and infrastructure failures. Emergency Management is assessing the situation of the storm hour by hour along with County Management. If a decision is made to open shelters, the primary site will be Lincolnton High School. If a decision is made to activate, a notification will be posted on the County website and social media sites. A phone number dedicated to shelter questions will also be activated and included in the communication. Please do not call 911 for shelter questions.

The Low Income Energy Assistance Program provides families with a one-time vendor payment to help pay their heating bills. LIEAP runs from December 1st through March 31st each year.Priority in eligibility is given to households containing a person aged 60 and older or disabled persons receiving services through the Division of Aging and Adult Services. Applications for this group start on December 1st and will continue until March 31st or until funds are exhausted.
NOTE: Individuals in this priority group may receive an automated payment to their vendor if they currently receive Food and Nutrition Services and received LIEAP during the 2024-2025 season. These households will be notified of eligibility by the state via mail.Applications for all other households will be taken January 1st through March 31st or until all funds are exhausted.
