As of April 15, 2013 at 8:15 a.m. the Lincoln County Health Department has approved Lincoln County Public Works canceling a No Swimming Advisory for all residents in the cove area bordering 8300 block of Ranger Island Marina Road, Denver, North Carolina.
On Wednesday, April 10, 2013, a wastewater spill occurred. The estimated amount of the spill that reached Lake Norman was 20 gallons. The spill occurred due to a commercial vehicle damaging a sewer connection, and the untreated sewage flowed into a cove that runs into Lake Norman in the Catawba River Basin
Lincoln County Public Works has tested daily three sites for fecal coliform levels at the 8300 block of Ranger Island Marina Road cove area. Three consecutive samples <200/ml were received at all three testing sites and all sampling meets the Division of Water Quality standards.
