(Lincolnton) The Lincoln County Health Director issued a No Swim Advisory at 3:30 pm Tuesday, November 4, 2025, due to approximately 700 gallons of untreated sewage that may have leaked into an unnamed cove on Lake Norman at 4686 Eagle Point Ln, Denver. This area may be contaminated with levels of fecal coliform that are above acceptable risk levels, and it is advised not to swim or otherwise have bodily contact with this area. The spill was caused by a utility crew boring into a marked low-pressure line at 4655 Eagle Point Ln, Denver. The Killian Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant is taking water samples and putting out signs. Results will be forwarded to the County Public Utilities Department who will notify the Health Department. The public can resume water activities in this area when samples indicate fecal coliform counts are at an acceptable risk level per state guidelines from the NC Department of Environmental Quality.
