(Lincolnton) Emergency Services Director Carr Boyd announced today that Carol Mecimore has been named 911 Communications Manager for Lincoln County Emergency Services, effective June 14, 2025.

With extensive experience in emergency services and public safety leadership, Ms. Mecimore brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong service-oriented background to this position.

In her new position, Ms. Mecimore will oversee the operations of the 911 Communications Center, focusing on our tremendous team of telecommunicators and administrative staff who ensure seamless communication of emergency and non-emergency calls to law enforcement, EMS, fire, animal services and other responders in Lincoln County. She will also be responsible for working with staff and emergency service partners to implement a new computer aided dispatch (CAD) system and other technology, recruit and retain telecommunicators, ensure interagency coordination and continue to maintain the high standards of the center. Ms. Mecimore joins the 911 Communications Division with more than 30 years of public safety experience that started in 1993 as a volunteer firefighter with the Fairbrook Volunteer Fire Department. After earning paramedic certification in 1995, she worked for Mecklenburg EMS before joining Lincoln County EMS in 2001. With Lincoln County she has served as a paramedic, field training officer, assistant supervisor, and supervisor; she currently serves as the County's EMS training specialist. In her current role, she facilitates continuing education training for first responders, recertifies personnel, manages special event coverage, and is the liaison to the Lincoln County Special Teams. Ms. Mecimore holds an associate degree in Emergency Medical Services from Catawba Valley Community College. She serves as an instructor at both Gaston and Catawba Valley Community Colleges teaching courses that span multiple emergency service disciplines, including paramedic, EMT, and BLET. We look forward to the vision and collaborative focus she will bring to this position to continue to move the 911 Center forward.
