Heavy equipment move may cause traffic delays. On Thursday, April 3rd between 1 am - 5 am , a transformer will be moved from Mecklenburg to Cowans Ford in Lincoln County.
Lincoln County Emergency Management is working with multiple agencies including Duke Energy to make this move as smooth as possible. Message boards will be placed along NC Hwy 73 to alert the public.
The haul will start at the Intermodal Station off Hwy 16 near Hoskins Road in Charlotte and travel Hwy 16 to Hwy 73 then east to Cowan’s Ford. Plans are to start the haul at 9:00 pm April 2nd and arrive at Cowan’s Ford no later than 5:00 am April 3rd . Lincoln County EM is not anticipating impacts in Lincoln County until approximately 1:00 am April 3rd.
