[ARCHIVED] Cancellation of No Swim Advisory Notice for Lincoln County

As of May 9, 2013 at 3:00 pm, the Lincoln County Health Department has approved Lincoln County Public Works canceling a No Swimming Advisory for all residents in the cove area bordering 8000 block of Malibu Pointe Lane, Denver, North Carolina.

On Monday, May 6, 2013, a wastewater spill occurred. It is estimated that 1,000 gallons of untreated sewage flowed into a cove that runs into Lake Norman in the Catawba River Basin.

Lincoln County Public Works has tested daily three sites for fecal coliform levels at the 8000 block of Malibu Point Lane cove area. Two consecutive samples of <200/ml per 100ml were received at all three testing sites and all sampling meets the Division of Water Quality standards
