On December 2, 2025 the Lincoln County Health Director cancelled the water activity advisory for Channel Point Lane in Denver.
The advisory was originally issued on Friday, November 28, when approximately 1700 gallons of untreated sewage may have flowed into an unnamed cove in Lake Norman after a utility boring crew drilled into a low-pressure sewer line. The decision to cancel the advisory is based on daily water sample testing conducted by Lincoln County Public Utilities from the sites at the affected area. Lincoln County Environmental Health was notified today that two consecutive samples showed test results below the required maximum levels and all sampling at these sites now meet the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality standards, therefore the water activity advisory has been lifted.
The general public can receive these type of notices by enrolling in Lincoln Alerts.
