COUNTY OFFICES TO REOPEN MONDAY

Lincoln County Government Offices will be open Monday on our regular schedule.
There are still ongoing challenges with connectivity, including internet outages and limited cell service. Please be patient with us as we continue to provide services to the community. Our hearts go out to those who suffered unimaginable consequences from Hurricane Helene and we offer a sincere thank you to the emergency responders, staff and linemen who have worked around the clock to keep the community safe and rebuilding. Please continue to follow our website and social media platforms for updates.

CONVENIENCE SITES AND LANDFILL

All Lincoln County Convenience Sites will REOPEN Sunday September 29th, 2024. Only the Optimist Site will accept yard waste. The sites cannot operate without power which has been affected by Hurricane Helene. Please only take SMALL and Necessary loads to enable the most people to get thru and reduce the lines. Sites can only stay open as long as there is space and will have to close once all containers are full.

Landfill will reopen Monday, September 30th, 2024.

STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED

(Lincolnton) Lincoln County Board of Commissioner Chairwoman Cathy Davis has declared a State of Emergency for Lincoln County effective at 10:15 a.m. Friday, September 27th, 2024 due to Hurricane Helene. In coordination, City of Lincolnton Mayor Ed Hatley also declared a State of Emergency for the City of Lincolnton effective 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 27th, 2024. The declaration enables Lincoln County Emergency Services to implement coordinated response and recovery efforts. Lincoln County Emergency Services has activated the Emergency Operations Center and will remain active for the duration of the storm. Emergency Services ask the public to stay vigilant to several downed trees, downed power lines and flooded roads in our community

COUNTY OFFICES CLOSED FRIDAY

Due to the projections of Hurricane Helene and the impacts to our community, Lincoln County offices will be closed Friday September 27th, 2024.
This decision is based on the rainfall projections and wind conditions that will begin late Thursday evening. Storm information from the latest report of the National Weather Service has Lincoln County categorized as a Moderate Risk for flooding with potential wind gusts in excess of 50 mph. Due to these conditions impacting roads, tree falls, and potential wash-outs, it has been determined to close offices for safety measures.

This closure also includes Convenience Sites and the Landfill. Thank you for understanding.

Regular hours will resume Monday, September 30, 2024.
