The Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance and the associated Flood Insurance Rate Maps are critical to compliance with the National Flood Insurance Program.
Lincoln County monitors all special flood hazard areas, formerly referred to as floodplains, within the county. These areas are monitored for various conditions such as the modification of stream banks, channelization, and the placement of fill within streams to ensure that flood hazard areas are not increased.
