North Carolina Opioid Settlement

North Carolina is set to receive approximately $1.5 billion in opioid settlement funds over the next two decades. These funds represent a significant opportunity for North Carolina to combat the ongoing opioid crisis effectively. By allocating resources to local governments and ensuring transparency in spending, the state aims to create healthier communities and provide essential support to those affected by the opioid epidemic.

Lincoln County Opioid Settlement

Lincoln County anticipates to receive over $11 million through 2038 in opioid settlement funds. This funding will provide support for local strategies aimed at reducing the impact of the opioid crisis.

Strategy Implementation

  1. Community-Centered Court: The mission of the Community-Centered Court of Lincoln County is to promote a safe and healthy community while providing quality programs that enhance public safety through education and treatment to assist participants with a smooth transition in returning to a stable and productive lifestyle. 
  2. Post-Overdose Response Team (PORT): The Lincoln County PORT program provides outreach, education, and timely support to individuals who have recently overdosed.
